Location
From our rooftop, you’ll see the spire of Santo Domingo Church. A 10 minute walk away are the Zócalo and Benito Juárez market, home to some of the best food in Mexico — mole, tlayudas, or even chapulines (if you’re brave). Along the way, you’ll walk the colourful streets that earned UNESCO heritage status. Zapotec ruins and waterfalls are a short day trip away. Hear fireworks and a band? Probably a calenda, celebrating a wedding. Run down and grab a mezcal — you’re invited.

Coworking & Coliving
Fast WiFi and a quiet call booth are the bare minimum. Remote work gets lonely fast. So for us, good coworking spaces are about who’s sitting next to you. People to focus with by day, and make plans with in the evenings. Hammock breaks and shared lunches, strongly encouraged.

MEET THE MANAGER
Meet The Manager: Joss
Joss, from Mexico, is one of our three co-founders and runs the show here in Oaxaca. Her favourite part of the job? The conversations. The more she learns about different cultural viewpoints, the calmer she feels about how the world works.
“The way they foster community and fun here while also providing a space to focus and work is unparalleled. Everyone here extends their stay or comes back, which is a testament to how great this place is.”
“I’ve done over 15 different co-livings around the world… and Oaxaca is my favorite. I extended my stay. Twice. I literally didn’t want to leave.”
“I decided to come for a three week stay at Co404 Oaxaca after spending a month at the San Cris location and I’m SO glad I decided to extend my trip to stay in Oaxaca! I cannot say enough good things about this place… If you’re on the fence about staying at Co404, take this as your sign to go for it — once you go, you’re part of the family for life.”

Where can I get groceries?
Our favourite local market is Mercado de la Merced, about a 10 minute walk from Co404. Spend a month here and you’ll know the vendors by name, with a fierce loyalty to the one who called you “guapo/a” on your first visit. You can get fresh fruit and veggies, or cheap local meals like tamales and enmoladas, usually with a side of entertainment from a local musician. If you need any staples you can’t find there, there’s a mini-super called Pitico a 5 minute walk away. Or, big supermarkets like Walmart or Chedraui are accessible by taxi or DiDi delivery.
How do I get to Co404?
If you’re flying to Oaxaca City airport, you can get a collectivo or a taxi for less than 200 MXN. If you’re arriving by ADO bus, we’re a 15 minute walk from the station. If your luggage is too heavy, you can also take a 5 minute taxi for around 60 MXN.
Is there a laundry nearby?
There is a lavandería right around the corner and it will cost you less than 50 MXN per kilo to get your clothes washed and dried. Your clothes will usually be ready within 1 day.
Is there an ATM close by?
There is an ATM less than 1 block away. Many of the larger Mexican banks are only a 10 min walk away. Use Santander or Banorte for the lowest fees.
What is the weather like in Oaxaca?
The weather in Oaxaca is usually hot and dry. In the winter (November to February), daytime temperatures are around 20°C. You’ll want a light sweater for the evenings. In the summer (March to May), afternoons are upwards of 30°C. If you’re less tolerant of the heat, we recommend booking one of our three air conditioned rooms. But for most people, our ceiling fans are strong enough to help you sleep through the night. Then there’s rainy season (June to August) and, honestly, it’s one of our favourite times of year. The rain shows up each afternoon with a dramatic downpour and often a bit of thunder, then it stops like clockwork two hours later.
